OK, so it’s not that bad. It’s not like I lost any of my stuff.
But yes, this is the first time in a long, long time that I will be taking a (forced) little break from making music. My second album is about 90% of the way to a full play-through version, and luckily I don’t have any other projects I’m currently working on (although I have a few on the horizon after New Years)… Perfect timing for my computer’s entire cooling system to fail on me.
I should be all up and running again right around New Years… Just in time to get working on a ton of exciting projects and finishing the new album. But in the meantime, I will make the most of this time off. I’m planning on basically getting everything I’ve ever pushed off so I could work on music, done. Cleaning out the studio. Cleaning out the office area. Emptying out tons of useless crap from the garage. Organizing my files on my backup hard drives… Getting stuff DONE.
That’s not all I’ll be doing though. Because I also have a brand new music video that I just happened to have finished last week. It’ll be posted on New Years Eve and will mark the beginning of the promotional run for my upcoming second album! I am so excited to share this with you all. I made it myself, the same way I did with my “Lights In The Sky” Music Video, and I think this one is even better. I found some amazing footage and mashed it all together into a weird, beautiful, sexy, crazy video. And it’s the first track you’ll get to hear off the new album. I’ll also be announcing the album’s name along with the video. The song is called “Dreams Like These.”
So wish me luck in making the most of this time off from music. I hate not being able to keep working, but at least the timing is right. See you on New Years.
