After dropping two The Pup Pups albums last year (my comedy rock project with my pets, for those that don’t know), I can’t believe we’re back not only with another one, but with what I think is probably our best one. And you know what new album time means… It’s time for my Mom’s review. Above are my Mom’s handwritten notes and below I’ve transcribed them the best I can with my own little commentary.
- “Gettin’ Old” – NICE SING ALONG FOR SENIORS
- She’s off to a good start. Yes a sing along for seniors is a good way to put it.
- “Snack Man!” – NOT QUITE SHAFT – SOME GOOD SPITTING!”
- I’ll take it.
- “A Race Against Time” – BOWIE-ISH (STARMAN) DEEP POETRY
- Sure why not?
- “Do Wit It” – DANGEROUS KISSING A KITTY – FUNNY BREAK
- It sure is dangerous kissing a kitty. We love them though!
- “Down In A Minute” – COUNTRY-ISH – MEH
- OK this one she’s way off on, this is what classic rock sounds like. But maybe she’s never listened to classic rock before?
- “Fresh & Clean” – THINKING ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST
- I mean kinda… Not really, but close enough I suppose…
- “Hanging Out The Window” – ROCKABILLY 60s – 70s
- Yeah close enough on this one too.
- “Don’t Be A Monkey” – NICE ECHOING JOB
- I mean if that’s all she took away from it, okay. Sure.
- “Wolf Dog” – KINDA DYLAN-ISH BUT DUMB
- Yes. I mean not really Dylan, but yes to the dumb part.
- “Heaven” – STUMPED!! SOPRANO??
- Haha. I think most would call it falsetto what I’m doing but yes.
- “Home Alone” – DON’T THEY KNOW IT’S CHRISTMAS RIP OFF!!
- At least she understood it’s a christmas song! I specifically tried to not try to rip off any one song, just the entire genre of christmas songs in general.
- “Covered In Dust” – ANGRY – TRYING TO BE METAL? LA LA LA LA LA LA LA
- Not really metal (or angry for that matter), but it is a very gruff voice so I guess I can see how she’d be confused with that.
- “Picture Purrfect” – GET OFF THE STAGE!
- Poor Trudy! Not nice! She’s very pretty!
- “Little Guy” – STILL GOING DOWNHILL
- What is that supposed to mean? She’s being mean now!
- “Pick You Up” – BLUES – OR UR DRUNK
- Why is she being so mean all the sudden? I think maybe she’s the one who is drunk.
- “Black & White” – SOUNDS LIKE EARLY ROBERT ZIMMERMAN
- I think it’s more rockin’ than that Mom. Also no recognition of talking about Ducky’s grandparents on the song? Also the end of the song reminds me personally of Def Leppard who I know you love!
- “Barkin’ At The Horses On TV” – REM-ISH – I’M LOST!!
- OK she’s definitely drunk…
- “The Balald Of Milky Nunu” – JOHNNY CASH??
- I can tell that she’s done with this review at this point.
- “Fresh & Clean (Redux)” – TRIBUTE!!!
- OK Mom you can go back to your TikTok videos now.
