Well everyone, today I’ve got some good news and some bad news for you

I’ll give you the bad news first… I’m sick. As a dog. I’ve got a bronchial infection which basically leaves me coughing non-stop to the point of veins bursting in my skull and being unable to breathe. It’s going on a week now, and shows no signs of really getting better yet. I’m on medication though so hopefully it does start going in a positive direction soon. Because as part of the treatment, I’m doing a whole lot of nothing and not getting anything done on all the various films and songs and projects I’m working on… It really, really sucks. I also just coughed like 8 times while writing the last sentence. I’m gonna keep this brief…

But now on to the good news (with a little more bad news sprinkled in)! The first bit of good news is that TODAY is the Las Vegas Black Film Festival which my music video “Never” is an Official Selection and Nominee for Best Music Video! I love working with the company Free Your Mind Films who made the video, so I’m so glad to see it getting some recognition. We’ll be working on another music video later this year for the next album. The little bit of bad news though is that I think I just made the decision (after much pushing by family/friends) to stay home and miss the festival so I can continue resting. I guess I wouldn’t be much good getting up in front of a crowd to discuss the video if I can’t say three words without coughing… *cough cough* Still I can’t help but feel awful about missing a Las Vegas-based film festival, especially one that I have a project in. Ugh. It sucks. But I gotta. I hope some of you reading this end up there though! And hopefully we can try to get in next year again.

And the other awesome news is my self-made DIY music video “Gravity” is an Official Selection of the 1st Annual Tromanimation Film Festival happening tonight in Brooklyn New York! I’ve been a fan of Troma Films my whole life, and their Troma Dance Film Festival is a really awesome festival, so it’s a real honor to have a project in their inaugural animation fest. You can get more details about the fest at their website http://www.tromadance.com/index.php. Hopefully some of my New York friends can make it out to represent becuase, of course, since I’m stuck home, in Las Vegas, sick, I won’t be making it out to the festivities. It really hurts to miss this one, but that’s life. I’m just happy to be in there and for “Gravity” to get its first Official Selection.

Alright that’s all the news for now. If you want to cheer me up, go share and/or leave some comments on the above videos. That would rule. I’m gonna go cough my brains out until it hurts really bad, blow my nose through 50 tissues, take more medicine and fall asleep. At 1:51pm. Ugh… I hate this. Oh, and did I mention our roof is leaking and it’s supposed to rain all day? Awesome. Good News & Bad News!
